Another day, another death.
The baby orangutan in the foreground died last week from malnutrition. Look how skinny she was when we came across her in a West Kalimantan zoo. We hired someone to visit and feed her, but sadly her body was weak and her heart broken.
She was an orphan whose mother had been killed by either loggers or palm oil company employees - these people are often the same.
That's another needless, cruel death - one of an estimated 3000 orangutans which will either be killed or die this year as a consequence of logging and/or new palm oil plantations.
