Palm Oil Producers Contribute for Orangutan Conservation

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Palm oil producers contribute funds for orangutan conservation amounting to Rp305 million. The funding goes to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, during the International Conference and Exhibition on Palm Oil at the Jakarta Convention Center.

Deputy of the Indonesian Oil Council, Derom Bangun, who is also a member of the committee's advisory board for the international conference, said that the contribution shows the care taken of palm oil producers for the environment.

The conference was attended by 12 countries including England, Malaysia, China, India, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany, and Sweden.
