January 2009. Two semi-adult, wild caught orangutans are housed in this horrific cage with no fresh water or fruit. They have no enrichment in the cage, nothing to play with. Consequently they do all they can to attract people to their cage, who then feed the orangutans with whatever they happen to have with them. In one photo you will see an orangutan has already consumed cans of Coca Cola and has begun on a bottle of Sprite. These orangutans are no more than two hours from a BOS rescue centre, but they might as well be on another planet as far as BOS is concerned - they won't rescue or help them.
