Former Indonesian Forestry Minister Will Be Questioned By Antigraft Commission

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will summon former Minister of Forestry MS Kaban in relation to an alleged bribery case during the selection of Bank Indonesia’s Senior Deputy Governor Miranda Gultom.

Kaban will be questioned as a witness. He was a member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives from 1999-2004. Besides Kaban, the KPK will also question Darsup Yusuf and Bobby Suhardiman, also former members of Commission IX.

The KPK had named four suspects in the case. The case began after a former lawmaker from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Agus Condro, announced that he had received Rp 500 million ($50,000) in travellers cheques after he voted for Miranda.
