TEMPO Interactive, Jambi: The Sumatra Orangutan Reintroduction Station of the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) is involving remote tribesmen from the Anak Dalam Talang Mamak tribe for its orangutan preservation project in Jambi, Sumatra.

“In this way, local people living in the area of the Bukit Tigapuluh national park will be empowered as well,” said the station’s manager, Julius Paolo Siregar, yesterday (10/9).

The tribesmen are responsible for nursing orangutan at the adaptation stage before the orangutans are released into the wild.

“There are ten tribesmen involved so far,” said Julius.
